Description

The LL 1644 Renold chain is a so-called Flyer chain of the light series, with a pin pitch of 1" (25.4 mm) and a plate lacing of 4x4.

Unlike roller chains, Flyer chains consist only of plates and pins, so thanks to this design, Flyer chains exhibit significantly higher breaking strength than standard roller chains of the same size. For these reasons, Flyer chains are mainly used for lifting and pulling mechanisms in material handling, where it is necessary to achieve high force ratios.

Flyer chains can be found, for example, on the lifting masts of forklifts; they are also used as counterweights for machine tools, as draw bench chains, or in container handlers, etc.
