It all started with a bearing

My father and I founded Mateza more than thirty years ago. In the beginning, it was just a small shop with a hundred bearings in stock. Since then, Mateza has changed significantly. Our team has grown to 30 experts, we have more than 50,000 products from Czech and foreign manufacturers in stock, and we have been operating in three cities in the Czech Republic for many years.

However, our goals have not changed since the company was founded. We pride ourselves on expertise combined with a human approach of our staff and a high-quality product range. We work hard to ensure that you find everything you need “under one roof” at Mateza stores and our e-shop, regardless of whether you are a large manufacturing organization, a maintenance operation, a retailer, or a DIY enthusiast.

Milestones of our business

1990 - Karel Tajovský starts his business

The current owner starts his business and begins selling bearings in Havlíčkův Brod under modest conditions.

1992 - Sole proprietorship becomes a company

Within two years, a small sole proprietorship becomes a company, and we change into a limited liability company.

1992 - First major partnerships

In the same year, we have another reason to celebrate. We enter into a partnership for the sale of ZVL bearings and representation of the prominent global brand SKF.

1995 - Moving into our own premises

Both we and our warehouses are growing. Finally, the time has come to move into our own premises. Moving was demanding, so hopefully, this will be enough for us for a while.

1998 - Further global collaborations

With growing demand, we expand our offer and enter into partnerships with global giants such as Goodyear, Renold, Poggi, or Optibelt.

2000 - Introduction of seal production using Seal Jet technology

We are among the first to acquire our own Economos Seal Jet machine for seal production to quickly address customer demands.

2001 - We are expanding to Brno!

We are opening a branch in Brno on Kšírova Street. You can still find us at the same address today. At the same time, we become authorized dealers of TIMKEN and INA bearings.

2006 - Partnership with Hutchinson

We form a partnership with the French company Hutchinson, a leading global manufacturer focusing on Poly-V belts.

2009 - We manufacture pressure hoses

The demand for hydraulic pressure hoses is growing, which is why we are launching their production in Havlíčkův Brod and Brno in order to react quickly to acute situations in operations.

2011 - We are opening Jihlava

All good things come in threes; in addition to the stores in Havlíčkův Brod and Brno, you can now find us in Jihlava at Romana Havelky 306/19

2013 - We launch our own e-shop

The world is evolving, and we must keep up with it. We are making a big step for a traditional engineering company. We are partnering with a local company, KomTeSa, and launching our own e-shop

2015 - Contitech!

Following the acquisition of the Goodyear brand by Continental, we are expanding our drive belt range with another major player. We now offer high-quality belts produced by Contitech.

2017 - Moving into larger premises

Finally, it's done, and we can move (again). In Havlíčkův Brod, we are moving to a brand-new building on Pod Kyjovskou Street. You can find us at this address to this day.

2019 - New Seal Jet machine

We are seeing higher demand for large-size seals. In Havlíčkův Brod, we are therefore switching to the new NG-060 machine, which makes their production easy.

2023 - New e-shop

With the growth of the e-shop, the requirements have also increased, so we are launching an e-shop on a new technology and with a brand new look.
